 Artist Biographies

Bruce Lazier, Producer/First Trombone,  has a Master’s Degree in classical trombone with an emphasis in chamber music performance from Yale University.  He is an active professional performer in all musical styles; most recently with "Sputzy and the Soul Providers" and several brass ensembles. Bruce has focused on being a low brass instructor and clinician for over 30 years.

Chris R. Hughes, Arranger, has played drums for Broadway shows, numerous recording sessions, and for a number of years for Skitch Henderson’s New York Pops at Carnegie Hall. He has enjoyed composing and arranging music for Fox News, CNN, National Geographic, The Detroit Symphony and the New York Pops. Chris is still an arranger and producer for Christian and Gospel CDs.

Greg Bibri, Bass Trombone, is a Seneca Valley High School graduate and was a member of the PMEA District 5 Honors Band. He is currently a freshman in Music Education at Youngstown State University. Greg’s career plans are to be a music educator, specializing in low brass, along with conducting youth bands. Greg also plans to pursue a professional career as a free lance musician within the community.

Matt Carroll, Trombone, is a 2007 graduate of Seneca Valley High School and currently attends the University of Dayton, majoring in Civil Engineering.  While in high school, Matt participated in numerous musical organizations both within and outside of school.  He was a member of the PMEA District 5 Honors Band in 2006 and 2007, and advanced to the PMEA All-State Jazz Band in 2007 and the All-State Concert Band in 2008.  Matt additionally performed with his church brass ensemble at many masses and services and hopes to continue to perform throughout college and beyond.

Shane Downing, Trombone, a Cranberry Township native, currently is a student at Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania. He is planning on majoring in biology with a specialization in marine microbiology. In high school Shane participated in the Seneca Valley Wind Ensemble on euphonium, the Jazz Ensemble on bass trombone, and in the marching band on trombone. Shane auditioned and participated in PMEA honors band for four years. He was also a two time member of the PMEA District 5 band, the PMEA Region 1 Band, and was a member of the PMEA All-State Wind Ensemble in 2006 on bass trombone and a member of the PMEA All-State Concert Band in 2007 on euphonium. Shane currently continues to play both the trombone and the euphonium on his own time and plans on performing and making music for the rest of his life.

Christopher Hughes, Trombone, is another 2007 Seneca Valley High School graduate and was a member of a number of honor bands. He is currently studying engineering as a freshman at the University of Pittsburgh, but is leaving his career options open. Chris currently enjoys singing in the University's Men's Glee Club, a classical a cappella group, and plans to apply his talents on trombone and piano as part of a lifelong hobby.
