Theresa Shearer graduated from Edinboro University as a music education major with a woodwind specialty. She has been a private music instructor for over 30 years. She taught in the Catholic elementary schools in Johnstown for  the past 15 years, and was also the marching band, concert band, string ensemble and orchestra director at Bishop McCort Catholic High School for the past three years.  Theresa now teaches instrumental music for grades 4 through 8 in the Catholic elementary schools of the Diocese of Pittsburgh. Theresa is also a freelance professional musician, playing oboe, clarinet, alto clarinet, bass clarinet, and soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones.  She is a member of the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association, Music Educators National Conference, and the American Federation of Musicians. Theresa grew up surrounded by music and always knew she wanted to be a music educator. She loves playing and teaching students to play, and is passionate about passing her love of music on to her students.
